Year/Grade Equivalency
Schools around the world use different numbering conventions as well as follow different curriculums. It is common to find North American schools and those following the US Curriculum using a 12 year numbering format, and British schools and those following the National Curriculum for England and Wales using a 13 year numbering format. In addition, there are other numbering conventions as well as those mentioned.
In the UAE there are many schools offering different curriculums and following different numbering conventions. Below is a table indicating Raffles World Academy numbering convention and the equivalent numbered class in schools following a 13 year numbering convention. RWA follows the 12 grade system.

Assessment
The Admissions team will contact you to arrange an assessment for your child(ren) KG1 to Grade 12. Please note that this will be dependent on the availability of places.
- For KG and Grade 1, is a paper base test. Kindly contact the Admission department in order to book the assessment.
- For Grades 2 and above we conduct CAT4 digital testing via an online platform. Assessments take place every working day from 9:00am to 12:00pm by appointment only.
Prospective students studying outside of Dubai may undertake the assessment in their current school, this arrangement is subject to conditions (KG1 to Grade 11 only).
There is an AED1000/- non-refundable assessment fee.
Evaluation
Once the Assessment has taken place and we have received the student’s previous 2 years’ school reports we will evaluate the application.
If your child is accepted into the school you will receive an offer of a place from the Admissions Department, you must respond within 5 days to secure the place.
If your child is accepted but there are no places available at that time your child will be placed on our waitlist. Should a place become available we will contact you immediately.
