The IB Learner Profile

"The aim of the IB programmes is to develop internationally minded people who, recognizing their common humanity and shared guardianship of the planet, help to create a better and more peaceful world." (Making the PYP Happen, 2007).

The IB learner profile is the International Baccalaureate (IB) mission statement translated into a set of learning outcomes for the 21st century.

At RWA The learner profile runs across all our three curriculum programmes and the four Phases (PYP, MYP, DP and CP). It promotes attitudes and characteristics in students that develop international-mindedness. Students are encouraged to recognize their common humanity and shared guardianship and to help create a better and more peaceful world.

The learner profile provides long-term vision for education and is a set of ideals that can inspire, motivate and focus the work of the entire school community- students, teachers, administrators and parents, uniting them in a common purpose.

As IB learners we strive to be:

The IB learner profile represents 10 attributes valued by IB World Schools. We believe these attributes, and others like them, can help individuals and groups become responsible members of local, national and global communities.
